A photocatalytic coating applied to the surfaces of the structure’s over four thousand square meters. And it is like this, thanks to the innovative and sustainable technology of the Milanese startup REairthat it Sport Club 12 Of Ispra (Varese) has become, since December 2023, one of those urban buildings capable of reduce the production of pollutants in the air such as human bio-effluent volatile organic compounds (chemical compounds that are emitted by the body and harmful microorganisms), thus making indoor environments healthier. Guaranteed healthiness with long-lasting effectiveness thanks to the photocatalytic activity.
The Sport Club 12 of Ispra thus becomes one of the first, if not the first, sports centers in Italy to use technology capable of improving the quality of the air within its structure. «The application of our photocatalytic coating on such a large sports structure allows us to see first-hand the high adaptability of REair technology – he explains Raffaella Moro, CEO of REair –. Our products are highly versatile, both for external and internal surfaces: from schools to offices, from hotels to sports centres, we offer valid solutions for every type of building. In this way, existing buildings can be used to help reduce urban pollution, transforming cities into truly invisible forests thanks to buildings. In the indoor environment, the treated environments thus become active in promoting healthiness and control of the microbial load on the surfaces, reduction of odors in the environments and improvement of air quality thanks to the reduction of VOCs, volatile organic compounds”.
REAIR TECHNOLOGY
REair has recently received international recognition: it was one of the 50 startups selected for the Italian mission, led by ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, for the CES in Las Vegas, the largest world fair dedicated to technology.
But how does the technology tested and patented by the Milanese startup work? REair has created and patented a totally green solution applicable to every surface, internal and external, of buildings: eCoating. A process that is activated by the combination of light and air, with a photocatalysis process, continuing over time to decompose gaseous pollutants (NOx, SOx, organic PM dust, VOC) and microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi and other pathogens harmful. A unique product on the Italian market, which has the advantage of being transparent, thus maintaining the original color of the treated surface, natural, solvent-free, certified for duration of effectiveness and easy to apply, via nebulization.
THE SPORT CLUB 12
Two 25 meter swimming pools, gym, thermal baths and spa, a medical center and a multi-faceted range of sporting activities: with over three thousand registered members, Sport Club 12 of Ispra is one of the major sports centers in Lombardy and the country, with a team of competitive swimming promoted to the A2 series for the first time.
