Luke Littler got the crowd on the benches at the Bahrain Darts Masters on Friday. The sixteen-year-old phenomenon immediately threw a nine-darter in the first leg of his quarter-final match against Nathan Aspinall.

Littler hit the nine-darter in the classic manner. The English top talent started with the maximum 180 score twice, after which he finished 141 via triple-20, triple-19 and double-12. A little later, Littler also delivered an eleven-darter.

The English teenager worked his way to a convincing 6-3 victory over Aspinall. Littler will face Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals, who eliminated the newly crowned world champion Luke Humphries earlier in the evening.

Humphries and Price made it an exciting match in the Gulf state. At 3-3, the 2021 Welsh world champion found an extra gear. In the last leg, Price’s engine faltered, but he found the double-1. His average of 90.48 points was ultimately lower than Humphries’ 95.39 points.

The quarter-finals conclude with a match between Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross. The winner of this match will meet Michael Smith, who won 6-1 against Peter Wright. The semi-finals and final will also be played on Friday.

The Bahrain Darts Masters is the first tournament of the World Series of Darts. Next week the circus will visit the Maaspoort in Den Bosch. The final round will be held in AFAS Live in Amsterdam from September 13.
