The other candidates competing against our Pan American champion are: the Chilean, Jaime Aranguiz and the Brazilians Julio César Godoy and María Gilda Dos Santos. It should be noted that the Peruvian woman leads the ranking of the World Badminton Federation and the Pan American Badminton Confederation.
Nominations are made under technical concepts, considering the 2023 Continental Championship, the 2023 Pan American Circuit, the location in the Pan American Ranking and the results obtained during 2023. For each category, 4 players/duos are nominated, and finally the winner is defined by voting via Instagram.
Pilar Jáuregui and Jaquelin Burgos won the third gold medal for Peru at the VII Parapan American Games Santiago 2023, by winning the WH1-WH2 women’s doubles modality of Parabadminton. Likewise, Pilar was also crowned with the gold medal in the WH2 Women’s Individual category.
