Peter Peñate and Rosa Rosemary hhave given the surprise in the second part of the 48-hour time trial of the Dakar 2024. The 836 kilometer super stage was the most feared by all the participants, but the Canary Islands Dakar Expedition has surpassed it significantly. They have crossed the finish line in 13th position in the T3 category, also being the second Spanish team classified. This excellent partial result also allows them to climb to 16th place in the general classification.

One of the great attractions of this time trial was that the teams did not return to the bivouac on Thursday.. Depending on their position on the route map and just before nightfall, the teams were distributed among different camps to camp, rest and have a small dinner in the middle of the desert. For Peñate it was “an unforgettable experience and a great success by the organizer.”
