Olympique de Marseille Adds Ulisses Garcia to Winter Transfer Window Recruits

OM have their second official recruit of the winter transfer window. After recruiting Jean Onana, the Olympian club announced this Tuesday the arrival of Ulisses Garcia, a 28-year-old left back who played for Young Boys Bern. According to La Provence, the two clubs reached an agreement on Monday around 3 million euros. Another left-back is still being sought, in particular to replace Renan Lodi, announced to Al-Hilal as part of a loan with an obligation to purchase greater than 20 million euros.

Trained at Grasshopper Club Zurich in Switzerland, Ulisses Garcia also played for Werder Bremen. After three seasons in Germany, the left-hander returned to his training country to sign with BSC Young Boys.

During these five years spent in Bern, the 28-year-old full-back demonstrated the extent of his qualities and shines with his consistency and reliability: he played 195 matches, scored 12 goals and even delivered 40 assists. His performances with the Yellow and Black, particularly in the European Cup (36 European matches, including 21 in the Champions League), opened the doors to the Swiss selection with which he participated in the qualifying campaigns for the 2022 World Cup. and Euro 2024.”
