The nominations have been announced
Speyer. This year, the city of Speyer is also traditionally looking for the athlete, the team and the young talent award Sport of the Year. Special sporting achievements are honored.
Nomination suggestions could be submitted to the city’s Department of Schools and Sports until January 11, 2024. On February 7, 2024, a jury chaired by Mayor Stefanie Seiler and with the participation of the city council factions, the city sports association and other representatives will decide on the honors from the ten suggestions received.
Citizens can also cast their vote: RHEINPFALZ will conduct a reader survey and provide information about it in advance.
The nominees this year are:
Female athlete of the year
Jill Trenz, Judo (Judosportverein Speyer)
Josephine Huck, Boxen (AV 03 Speyer)
Sportsman of the year
Tim Streib, rowing (Speyer Rowing Society)
Jaron Götz, swimming (Speyer water sports club)
Frank Erk, triathlon and cycling (RC Vorwärts)
Team of the year
Rowing team (Speyer rowing company)
Women’s team JSV Speyer, judo (Judo sports club Speyer)
Karate-Team (Karate Club Speyer)
Young Talent Award Sport of the Year
Lorin Sayim, The Box (AV 03 Speyer)
Luisa Schaudig, Karate (Karate Club Speyer)
The honors will take place at the “Ball des Sports” on March 2, 2024.
