The Major League offseason brought another movement with it this Thursday afternoon, after an agreement was announced between the New York Mets and New Yorker Harrison Bader.

Although the team has not confirmed the move, a source from MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand announced that it is a one-year, $10.5 million contract.

In addition to the above, the first baseman of the ‘Big Apple’ team, Pete Alonso, posted on his Instagram account a welcome message for his former teammate with the University of Florida Gators, a way that led to the Men’s College World Series in 2015.

“The diesel bros are back baby!!! Welcome back to the orange and blue!!!! #LFGM @aybaybader”, can be read in the post addressed to the Gold Glove winner with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2021.

The 29-year-old outfielder finished the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) Season with a .232 batting average, in addition to seven home runs, 40 RBIs, 20 stolen bases and a .622 OPS in 319 at-bats with New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds.

This is how Bader becomes the second outfielder hired by the Mets, after they acquired Tyrone Taylor in a multiple trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.
