A total of eight new games are coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscribers this month, and five games are leaving Game Pass this month.
Here’s a look at some of the latest Xbox Game Pass releases for January.
Close to the sun
Close to the Sun, the 2019 first-person indie horror game with a “mostly positive” Steam review score, is now available on Xbox Game Pass. The game is set in an alternate historical world where Nicola Tesla and Thomas Edison are engaged in a global war for power (figuratively and literally). Some Steam reviewers called it a survival game, while others praised its graphics and overall atmosphere.
All hell will break loose
The indie WWII first-person shooter Hell Let Loose will be available on Xbox Game Pass on January 4th. First released in 2019, the game offers tactical shooting and large maps for team battles.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Ubisoft’s 2020 game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released as part of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions on January 9th. Valhalla is the Viking-themed entry in the long-running action-adventure role-playing game series. In Valhalla, players can play as a Viking raider, Eivor Varinsdottir, who is searching for his son across England.
Figuration
Figment is a 2017 indie action-adventure game in which players must venture into a surrealist world, completing various missions and puzzles along the way. The setting takes place in someone’s mind after trauma and nightmares, but the landscapes are floating islands with fantastical, almost steampunk elements.
Figment releases on Xbox Game Pass on January 9th.
Super mega baseball 4
Super Mega Baseball 4 is an arcade-style baseball simulation game coming to Microsoft’s Game Pass service on PC via the EA Play platform on January 11th.
We are a happy few
We Happy Few is a disturbing and colorful action-adventure game released by the creators of Borderlands on Gearbox. We Happy Few offers a dystopian alternate history set in 1960s England, complete with strange masks, mind-altering drugs, and a narrative-driven experience. The game will release on Xbox Game Pass on January 11th.
Resident Evil 2
The 2019 remake of zombie survival game Resident Evil 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 16th. The original Resident Evil 2 first released in 1998, and its remake became the best-selling Resident Evil game of all time in 2023.
Those who remain
Those Who Remain is a psychological horror game coming to Game Pass on January 16th. Set in the dark, neon-lit city of Dormont, Those Who Remain offers a haunting puzzle experience with first-person adventure.
What is he leaving behind?
While there are tons of new Xbox Game Pass games arriving this month, Grand Theft Auto V will leave the service on January 5th and the following titles will no longer be included starting January 15th:
