The ninth edition of the national badminton tournament will take place Saturday February 3 and Sunday February 4, 2024 in Pontivy. “For the first time, this tournament will be open to National 1 level players, the highest amateur level,” announces the president of the Pontivyan Secular Revival, Guillaume Petitjean.

Thus, nearly 400 players, unclassified in National 1, are expected in the Kérentré and Drogo halls over the two days of competition.

Among the favorites, the Briochin Martin Bellot, fourth French player in his U19 category, or the young Lenny Hubert, ranked N2 at just 14 years old, and French badminton prodigy. He is a double winner of the Strasbourg international tournament in 2023, in singles but also in mixed doubles with Élisa Hess.

Among the women, eyes will be on Emma Gautier, from the Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande club (Ille-et-Vilaine), who knows the Kérentré room well having participated in the Brittany championship in 2023.

On the local side, around thirty players will be entered on the different tables in the hope of securing a podium.
