Monday January 8, 2024, the Montmorillon gendarmes intervened, more than three months after an attack that occurred in the middle of the night at the home of a young man, to arrest three suspects (1).
It was a revenge attack decided following a fight at the Festi’Gartempe when everyone was very drunk.
Stolen keys found in trash can
In the hours following the attack, two friends heard a knock on the apartment door. Through the peephole, they see four figures who eventually burst in, two of the intruders with baseball bats are hooded. One of the occupants is assaulted, the other takes refuge in a room.
Before leaving, the intruders stole the keys to a car and a company truck as well as those to the apartment. Keys which were found eight days later in a trash can near the church.
Reprisals
Tried this Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in immediate appearance, two of the three men aged 29 to 36, admitting to having come to resolve the consequences of a fight themselves which had given rise to the opening of an investigation by the gendarmes, been convicted. The altercation also resulted, according to the defendants, in reprisals of which they claim to have been victims.
The organizer of the revenge at home, judged as a repeat offender, received a total of seven months in prison to be served at home with an electronic bracelet, his sidekick ten months suspended.
And the defendant, who contested his participation in the facts, was acquitted with the benefit of the doubt.
(1) During the arrests, the gendarmes found undeclared weapons and ammunition, in particular two non-demilitarized shells.
