Microsoft reported that incorporating new Artificial Intelligence features into its programs and its Azure cloud service was key to attracting more customers and increasing its revenue.
According to its latest financial report, Microsoft increased its revenue by 18 percent to $62 billion in the last quarter that ended on December 31, 2023. This annual growth was largely due to its Intelligent business area. Cloud and its Azure platform, according to the report.
“We have moved from talking about AI to applying it at scale. By infusing AI into every layer of our technology stack, we are winning new customers and helping drive new benefits and productivity gains across all industries,” the company said in a statement. Microsoft president Satya Nadella.
Azure sales, for which Microsoft does not disclose a dollar figure, grew 30 percent, the best growth rate in four quarters.

Furthermore, this 30 percent exceeds the 25.7 percent advance recorded by Google Cloud.
While analysts indicated that significant AI gains may not be realized before next year, investors have rewarded the company’s push into the technology and its partnership with startup OpenAI.
In the personal computing segment, which houses its Windows operating system and its Xbox gaming business, they grew 19 percent, to $16.9 billion, driven in part by the purchase of Activision Blizzard, the largest acquisition in its history.
The Productivity and Business Processes segment, which contains the LinkedIn social network in addition to Office sales, reported that sales increased 13 percent to $19.2 billion.
