VIVA – Liverpool don’t seem to have to worry too much about losing their mainstay, Mohamed Salah, in the near future. This was due to a statement by one of their former stars who called Darwin Nunez an ‘absolute force’ who could replace the Egyptian in goals when Nunez reached his full potential.

Mo Salah was the target of a huge £150m bid from Al-Ittihad in the summer, after the Saudi Pro League identified him as their dream target to raise the profile of the competition. Liverpool quickly rejected the offer, but Al-Ittihad are expected to return with a new proposal at the end of the season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp really wants Salah to stay at Anfield for at least another season. Even so, he may have to survive without it longer than expected in the coming weeks.

The striker is currently on international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, he injured his hamstring in the recent 2-2 draw with Ghana and is expected to be out for three to four weeks.

Salah has returned to Liverpool, and the Merseyside giants will do all they can to help him return to AFCON as soon as possible. However, there is no guarantee that he will play again in this version of the competition.

Michael Owen, who scored 158 goals in 297 games and won the Ballon d’Or during his seven years at Liverpool, has now explained how Klopp can get over the loss of Salah, when the 31-year-old decides to leave permanently.

Owen called Salah’s strike partner Nunez an ‘absolute force’ who could emerge in a ‘real deal’.

“Nunez is a player who has different opinions. “I think he is very raw in some of his games, but I also think he is extraordinary in some of his games,” said the expert on talkSPORT, quoted from TEAMtalk.

He said Mo Salah would not last long. And Mo Salah could be replaced by Darwin Nunez. Owen believes that Nunez has many abilities.

“When you think about Liverpool in the future, obviously Mo Salah is not going to last forever, so someone has to step up, or they have to replace him with someone who will try to replace his goals,” he said.

“This guy [Nunez] is probably the only man in the team who has the space to do that, I see him developing into an absolute force in the Premier League. I still think he can do otherwise, I still don’t think he’s the complete package, but he does things that really amaze you. “He is very strong, he is very direct, he is very fast and he has a lot of ability, if he can improve in certain areas, he can be the best,” he added.

The Uruguayan player was guilty of wasting a number of good opportunities during his time at Liverpool. However, he works as hard as he can to put himself in the right positions and will become a deadly striker when he finishes more of those chances.

Nunez also received love from Liverpool fans. They admire his tenacity and passion, and he is a player who can immediately make the fans excited.

Although the 24-year-old has missed opportunities this season, he still has a good goalscoring record. He has scored 10 goals in 31 games this season, a record only surpassed by Salah and Diogo Jota.
