Mexican Archery Mourns the Loss of Rising Star Carlos Vaca at 20 Years Old

Carlos Vacaconsidered by specialists as a promise of Mexican archery, died at 20 years of agereported the Institute of Sports and Recreation of the State of Querétaro.

REACTIONS

After the news of Carlos Vaca’s death became known, the reactions of athletes and institutions began to emerge in social networks.

Aida Roman, silver medalist in archery at the London 2012 Olympic Gamespublished a heartfelt message to the young promise.

“Today a arrow has flown higher and further, up to the sky. The purpose of an arrow is for it to fly and hit our target. However, today the quiver has remained empty, as has the bow, a shooting line, the team, a friend, a family and a country. The impact of that shot has left us in shock, perplexed and greatly short of breath. Rest in peace Carlos Vaca,” Román expressed on his social networks.

CONDOLENCE

Through its social networks, the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) confirmed the death of Carlos Daniel Vaca. He also gave the condolence for his family and recognized that it is a hard blow for Mexican sports.

“CONADE and its director, Ana Gabriela Guevara, regret the sensitive death by Carlos Daniel Vaca Cordero, Mexican gold and silver medalist archer at the Cali-Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games. Rest in peace,” reads his publication.

“I can’t find words, you were a great friend, talented and skilled in many things. Thank you for the laughter, the tears, the defeats and the victories. Thank you for teaching me many things, dear. “I am sending you a letter wherever you are and I hope you have the peace you always wanted,” goalkeeper Valentina Vázquez wrote on Instagram. There she shared some photos with Vaca, who was her partner in several competitions.

So far no further details have been given about the cause of Carlos Vaca’s death.
