Mexican Archer Alejandra Valencia Wins Silver Medal at Archery World Cup in Berlin

MEXICO CITY, August 6 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The Mexican Alejandra Valencia won the silver medal this Sunday in the recurve modality of the archery World Cups that close today in Berlin, where he added his second metal after the team bronze two days ago.

The first seed in Berlin overcame her quarterfinal match with ease (7-1) against the Japanese Sugimoto Tomomi and in the semifinals she achieved a closer victory over Case Kaufhold (6-5).

The title finally went to the Czech Marie Horackova, 25, who made history by winning the title for her country for the first time in a resounding manner (0-6) in three sets.

Valencia, 28 years old and 14th in the world ranking 28, won bronze in the mixed team event at the Tokyo 2020 Games and in Berlin has certified her qualification for Paris 2024.
