Mexican-American Forward Cade Cowell Nears Transfer to Chivas for Clausura 2024

Mexican-American forward Cade Cowell is close to leaving MLS to become Chivas’s new reinforcement for the Clausura 2024 of Liga MX.

According to information from Erick López, a TUDN reporter, the Flock board headed by president Amaury Vergara and sports director Fernando Hierro have already reached an agreement with Cowell for his incorporation.

The only thing missing to make the transfer official is the ‘ok’ from his team, the San Jose Earthquakes, but López adds that negotiations between both clubs are well underway.

Even Cowell has already accelerated the procedures and this Thursday he received his Mexican passport, so he would not have any problem reaching the Flock.

Chivas hopes to deliver a double bombshell on the same day by announcing the signings of Chicharito and Cade Cowell, which, if all goes well, would be next week.

Cowell, 20, was born in Ceres, California, but his dual citizenship is thanks to the fact that his mother is Mexican. The forward decided to represent the United States, while his brother, Chance, opted for Mexico.

Cade is a versatile footballer who, in addition to playing as a center forward, plays as a winger on both sides. With SJ Earthquakes he registers 12 goals and 12 assists in 114 games.
