Marc Klok reflects on lack of playing time in 2023 Asian Cup

Bandung, tvOnenews.com – The lack of playing minutes in the 2023 Asian Cup hit Marc Klok. He only appeared for 15 minutes when he came on as a substitute in the match against Iraq on the first matchday of Group D.

In the remaining two matches, Marc Klok only graced the bench without being played by the coach, Shin Tae-yong.

Three matches have been played and the target of getting four points carried by the Indonesian national team cannot be achieved.

Even though they failed to achieve their target, Klok considered that there was something positive because the Garuda squad could break the trend of having difficulty winning against Vietnam.

“Regarding the results, we have a target of four points to achieve. We are in a difficult group and we are also relatively new to this tournament. But the positive thing is that we were able to beat Vietnam, whom we have struggled to beat in the last 5-6 matches. So that is the thing which is positive,” said Marc Klok when interviewed via short message, Thursday (25/1/2024)

Apart from that, Indonesian players have gained a lot of experience at the 2023 Asian Cup. Because they can experience first-class facilities at venues that were used for the World Cup.
