A few days ago, Jürgen Klopp announced he was leaving Liverpool FC. The rumors about the German coach and his next job are mushrooming. Manuel Neuer, captain of FC Bayern, also has an opinion.

It was a rousing reception that the Liverpool fans gave Jürgen Klopp. During the 5-2 win in the FA Cup against Norwich City, they celebrated their coach with chants and posters. Klopp appeared very moved in the first game after he announced he would quit as Liverpool manager in the summer. While the supporters sang “You’ll never walk alone,” the 56-year-old sat thoughtfully in the dugout and let his gaze wander around the stadium.

In four months, Klopp will call it quits after nine years as coach of the legendary club. But what comes next? There should be no shortage of interested parties. Klopp only ruled out taking over a Premier League club. Maybe at some point FC Bayern Munich.

“At some point you realize that you are no longer a young rabbit”

Coach Jürgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool FC in the summer after almost nine years. He now explained his departure at a press conference. He realized that his resources are not inexhaustible. Resignation is therefore only the logical consequence.

“I think he is definitely a potential candidate who could work for Bayern Munich later,” said Bayern goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer at a fan club meeting about Klopp’s possible future with the Munich team. He believes it depends on Klopp: “I don’t think FC Bayern has anything against it. Klopp is a renowned, very good, experienced, tactically astute coach who wins great respect from all footballers and athletes.”

“National coach? I can imagine him too.”

However, Klopp had already stated some time ago that he wanted to take a break after saying goodbye to Liverpool. Recently he was repeatedly traded as a national coach and at other top European clubs. The fact that Neuer speaks so openly about Klopp as a potential Bayern coach is quite piquant given the current coach’s criticism.

Thomas Tuchel has a contract with Munich until 2025. Under the 50-year-old, Bayern are currently only second in the league and were eliminated from the cup early on; There is also always criticism of the style of play. From Neuer’s point of view, whether Klopp could be an option for the record champions in the future depends primarily on his plans: “Whether he wants to do that is of course his business. Or whether he says he wants to take a break first. Maybe no longer the day-to-day business – I can imagine him possibly being a national coach one day. Of course, it depends primarily on himself.”
