Lyon’s Revolution: Winter Transfer Window Brings Significant Changes

Still 16th in Ligue 1 and potentially a play-off, beaten during its two appearances in the Championship in 2024, at Le Havre (1-3, January 14) and against Rennes (2-3, Friday), OL accelerated very significantly the revolution of its workforce during the winter transfer window. After welcoming the two Brazilians from Botafogo, goalkeeper Lucas Perri (26 years old) and defender Adryelson (25 years old), then the young Gant players Malick Fofana (18 years old) and Gift Orban (21 years old), as well as Nemanja Matic (35 years old, until June 2026) for 2.6 million euros at Stade Rennais, the Lyon club managed to attract one of the priorities of David Friio, the sports director, since the start of the transfer window. West Ham’s Algerian international winger Saïd Benrahma (28 years old, 21 caps, 1 goal), will join Lyon in the coming hours, after having settled final details with his club.
