None of the young talents who make their debut at the World Darts Championship every year promise as much as Luke Littler. He made it to the semi-finals (Tuesday, 8.30 p.m. against Rob Cross) with remarkable confidence. The 16-year-old, who doesn’t yet have a beer on tap, intoxicates the crowd at Alexandra Palace in London in a special way in what was once a pub sport.

Littler’s semi-final entry has already ensured in the media that he is expected to be the sport’s next title record hunter. Luke Littler also says of himself: “I can break more records.” He already has that of the youngest semi-finalist. Whoever wins this World Cup, the name Luke Littler will forever be associated with the 2024 edition.
