The organizers of the 37th edition of the BDO Playa Luanco Tennis Tournament presented the dates of the tournament at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), in Madrid. It will be held from July 17 to 20 on La Ribera beach.
José María Ferrer, president of the Luanco Tennis Club and director of the BDO Luanco Beach Tennis Tournament, commented in Madrid that “everything is underway and the Tournament has a dimension that arouses interest in itself, even without having confirmed tennis players yet. We do not want to rush.” :
“The international calendar is conditioned by the celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and we are waiting to select the best options, aspiring for example to Pablo Carreño, champion of the Tournament in 2022, who is recovering from an injury, or to the finalists of the past year, Miguel Avendaño and Edas Butvilas,” said the president of the Luanco Tennis Club and director of the Tournament.
Juan Avendaño, founder of the Playa Luanco Tennis Tournament, former professional tennis player and former captain of the Spanish Davis Cup team, expressed his “special excitement with everything that the Tournament entails after having played the first matches and living it intensely all these years. I think we will have a great edition in 2024 and we will once again enjoy great tennis in mid-July and the entire atmosphere that surrounds the Tournament and that leads to some very nice days in Luanco.”
