Local Businesses and Basketball Team Join Forces to Donate Equipment to Schools

On the 22nd, Shonan United BC (President Shizuo Ogawa), a men’s professional basketball team based in the two cities and towns of Fujisawa, Chigasaki, and Samukawa, and three partner companies held a total of 120 games at junior high schools and special needs schools in Fujisawa City. Donated several basketballs. On the same day, a ceremony to present a letter of appreciation was held at Fujisawa City Hall.

The team belongs to the B3 league and is in its second season. The initiative aims to develop youth and contribute to the community through competition, and is endorsed by Kadokura Gumi Co., Ltd. (President Koki Ozawa), Nippon Europe Office Machine Co., Ltd. (President Katsutaro Sano), and Milly Co., Ltd. (President Hiroshi Omura). He offered to donate, saying, “I hope it will be useful in promoting the spread of competitive sports.”

President Ogawa said in his opening remarks, “I hope that sports, including basketball, will become more popular and that we can create a society where children can have dreams.” Mayor Tsuneo Suzuki expressed his gratitude, saying, “The promotion of sports leads to the development of young people.I am grateful.”
