Liponens secures “Nokian KrP” Finnish Cup in extra time – Floorball – Sportacentrs.com

The SPV team and “Nokian KrP” made it to the finals in the Final Four tournament in the Finnish city of Lahti, whose application includes Latvian floorball player Jorens Malkavs, who could not help the team in the cup, as he played in one of the first rounds of the cup as part of the club’s farm club “Karhut”.

The final started at a fast pace, but the first goal had to wait until the 14th minute of the match, when Yonatan Kovanen stood out. The first period as a whole went by the sign of “Nokian KrP”, but it turned out to be only goals not only in the first, but in the first two periods, as none of the teams managed to score in the middle of the game.

The third period was quite different from the first two as SPV scored two goals in four minutes to not only fight back but also take the lead. However, it was not yet the decisive moment of the game. Seven minutes before the end of regular time, Valteri Vītakoski equalized, but after 29 seconds, Miko Lākso sent the ball into the far corner of the goal, putting last season’s Finnish vice-champions in the lead again. The situation became even more grateful for the team in the 56th minute, when Niko Jonaeson realized the numerical majority, making it 4:2. Playing without a goalkeeper, the SPV team still knew how to fight back when Juka Peka Pelto-Arvo scored a hat-trick with two goals, both times excelling in the format of six against five rivals. Extra time followed, and in the fourth minute, Ville Liponens secured a historic first title for the “Nokian KrP” team with a shot from in front of the goal.
