SANTO DOMINGO.-Miguel Andújar, Emilio Bonifacio and Ramón Hernández each had three hits in Licey’s 9-2 victory against the Estrellas Orientales this Monday night in the tenth day of Round Robin 36 of the Dominican Baseball League in which disputes the Banreservas Cup dedicated to Onfalia Morillo.
With their victory, the Tigers stop their losing streak in two to put their record at 6-4 to remain alone in second place, while breaking a streak of six straight victories that the Orientales (8-2) had.
The Stars remain in first place with a record of 8-2 and the Tigers are two games away from the Chosen One.
Elniery García faced the first 16 batters in 3.1 innings, with five hits, two earned runs and one strikeout.
Sam McWilliams (W,1-0) in two innings, struck out three of six batters he faced.
Raúl Valdés (P,0-2) in 1.2 innings, he was given four hits, with five earned runs and two walks against twelve batters.
