Leonardo Bombardi from Bucine will be part of the national karate team at the next European championships which will be held in Tblisi, Georgia. Student of the Galilei scientific sports high school in Siena, Leonardo will participate in the competitions in the “forma” Kata specialty, in the junior class. Currently registered in the ranks of the Army – 187 Folgore of Livorno, Bombardi was chosen by the Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation after a long journey undertaken in the selection circuit, which began last year through participation in national and international competitions, identified by National Commission for Youth Activities – CNAG.
The athlete from Valdarno was among those who particularly stood out, thus deserving the call-up to the Italian selection. He will be one of the three members of the technical/demonstration team. Bombardi will be involved in the retreat of the collegiate meeting, scheduled for 4 to 6 February, at the PalaPellicone Olympic center in Lido di Ostia to better prepare for the European commitment.
