Latvian Basketball Player Ervins Jonats Joins Estonian Team Pērnavas Osta

32-year-old Ogre basketball student Ervins Jonats played 11 games in Italy, averaging 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds. Today, the last match of the Italian second league announced the departure of the Latvian power forward from the bulls. Jonats didn’t have to be looking for a new club for a long time, because “Pērnavas Osta”, coached by Gerta Kullame, announced already this evening that they are strengthening their ranks with the 2016 Latvian champion.

This will be Jonat’s second season in Estonian teams, as 2018/2019. In the season of 2008, the player already represented the colors of “Avis Rapla”. Currently, Jonāts has become the fourth Latvian basketball player in Estonian teams. Since the beginning of the season, Rinalds Mālmanis and Kārlis Žunda have represented “Tartu University” and “Keila”, respectively. On the other hand, the flagship of Estonian basketball “Kalev/Cramo” of Tallinn just attracted Jānis Bērziņš, who left Poland.

The Pärnu team will play an away game in Keil tonight, but Jonat’s potential debut could be expected on January 30 in the game against the Estonian champion team and the leader team of the combined league “Kalev/Cramo”.
