The Konya Metropolitan Region welcomes national athletes from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Greece, Chechnya, Kyrgyzstan, Jordan, Uzbekistan and various provinces of Turkey to the “Mevlana International Judo Training Camp”. The camp, in which around 350 athletes took part, ends on January 3rd.

The “Mevlana International Judo Training Camp”, hosted by Konya Metropolitan Municipality, brings together national athletes from 10 different countries around the world in Konya. Sezer Huysuz, head of the Turkish Judo Federation, who attended the camp at the Konya Sports and Congress Center, took part in both national athletes and Huysuz stated that around 350 athletes took part in the camp and that it was a pleasant working environment and said: “The impact of the development of our country’s infrastructure on the international community is also visible here.” Our Konya has provided great service to Turkish judo and produced great athletes. Our daughter, national athlete Sinem Oruç, who won the gold medal at the European Cadet Judo Championship in Portugal, is the athlete of Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Club and this province. Participants from other countries camp together for five days at the Mevlana International Judo Training Camp in the Konya Metropolitan Region. This will be a great contribution to both Turkish judo and European countries. All our national team level athletes from our 15 cities are here, we invited them too. All our athletes who competed in Konya on behalf of the Turkish national team and the national team are here.
