Kobe Night ’24: A Charity Evening Honoring the Memory of Kobe Bryant

A splendid evening, with almost a thousand people present at the PalaBigi to honor the memory of Kobe Bryant on the fourth anniversary of his tragic death.

The “Kobe Night ’24” was this and much more: it was above all a charity evening, with more than 16 thousand euros in proceeds raised which will be donated entirely to the Reggio Emilia Green Cross as part of the “Red and White Ambulance” project, who wants to donate a new emergency vehicle to the city.

The hosting of the Eurosport journalist Mario Castelli and the extraordinary participation of Francesco Costa, deputy director of “Il Post”, took the audience present on a journey into the life of Kobe Bryant and beyond, in the context of his Reggio Emilia and his Los Angeles.

Many guests and testimonials were interspersed on stage, starting from Kobe’s teammates in the red and white youth teams, passing through the former Lakers scout Adam Filippi, then the point guard and content creator Tommaso Marino and finally the red and white guard Langston Galloway.

There was no shortage of remote contributions either, such as that of Gianluca Basile, who recalled that training session together with the Lakers champion carried out in 1997 at the PalaBigi.

One hundred students and young athletes were also present at the event, sponsored by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, thanks to tickets donated by the evening’s partner, Banco BPM.

Also in the stands were all the athletes and staff of the UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia first team and its youth sector.

A very successful event, to which the red and white Club is grateful to have linked a charitable purpose such as that of the “White Red Ambulance” project, which once again demonstrates how the memory of Kobe Bryant, in our city, is alive, present and proud .
