Italy – Juventus brought home three points from a visit to Stadio Arechi, Salernitana’s headquarters in Week 19 of Serie A, Monday morning WIB 8 January 2024. The team nicknamed The Old Lady won with a score of 2-1.

Juventus conceded first when the match entered the 39th minute. Giulio Maggiore scored the home team’s lead.

Trailing by one goal, Juventus started the second half aggressively. They got a breath of fresh air in the 53rd minute after Maggiore was given a red card by the referee.

In the 65th minute, Juventus equalized through a goal from Samuel Iling-Junior. One minute into injury time, Dusan Vlahovic put the ball into Salernitana’s goal.

Even though they managed to gain victory, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was worried. He saw that his team had not learned from the previous match.

“The thing that is not good, and the players know it, is that we conceded in the same way tonight and against Frosinone,” said Massimiliano Allegri, quoted from Football Italia.

According to the tactician, this is a bad signal for Juventus. The way they defend creates a risk of conceding when the opponent directs the ball near the penalty area.

“We are no longer as confident as before. Calmly, we will overcome this because we cannot just take the risk of conceding,” he said.

“We attacked in a better way than before, but our defense actually got worse,” added Allegri.

Allegri feels that now his team is very vulnerable in defense. According to him, situations like this must be eliminated so that they can do better.
