During 2023 the athlete had different more than important competitions, one of them was the debut in the “World Judo Tour”, this sporting event is a tour that is carried out only by elite judo athletes, it debuted in Portugal in the “Gran Premio de Portugal” ante Filipinas achieving a victory, unfortunately reaching the round of 16 where he lost to a Korean athlete.

In the same year, Karim made a change to move up a weight category and improve his performance. His first competition at 73kg was in a national tournament where he did not have a good result, being left out in the first round because he was a rookie in that category. . A few weeks later, he returned to the international circuit, in the “Santiago de Chile Open” where he lost the bronze, but managed to beat Argentina’s number one at 73kg. The following week she was competing in the province of Córdoba with a good performance.

Today he is currently living in Spain where he participated in two important competitions.Pan American Circuit” and the “Guayaquil Open“, which was a Pan American Super Cup that gave points for the classification of the Panamerican Games, which unfortunately he did not achieve, because it was a very new category for him. The last chance he had was the “Pan American Open in Brazil”, where he reached the semifinals with the Olympic medalist, being left out. As a result of the year, he achieved two fifth places, being undoubtedly positive in a new category.

Regarding his new institution, the Dojo Quino Club located in Brunete, Madrid, during 2023 he competed in the Club League where he managed to be promoted to the first division with his team, he also added two Spanish cups, the Champions Cup remaining in ninth place and the Spanish Cup in Madrid where he finished fifth.

His main objective of being in Spain is to improve his training and competition cadence. He is also working at a school where he teaches judo classes.

For 2024, Karim has confirmed his appearance at the Portuguese Grand Prix, with many appointments on the competition calendar, but everything will depend on the financial support he can receive.
