Joey Daccord Shuts Out Vegas Golden Knights in Historic Winter Classic Victory

Joey Daccord made Winter Classic history. The 27-year-old American-Swiss goalkeeper, who has been in good shape for several weeks, has indeed become the first goalkeeper not to concede a goal during this open-air meeting on January 1st which has become traditional. His Seattle Kraken team won 3-0 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Son of former Ambri goalkeeper Bryan Daccord, Joey Daccord stopped all 35 shots that were sent in his direction. He logically obtained the first star of this Winter Classic. “Today is a special day for everyone,” Daccord said. For our team, for the city, for hockey, it was an incredible day. I am grateful to have been able to participate. It’s something I will never forget. I probably had one of the most memorable days of my life.”

This Winter Classic, the fifteenth in history, was played at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, a stadium generally reserved for the Seattle Mariners, the baseball team of the city in the state of Washington, in the northwest the United States. 47,313 spectators gathered in the enclosure to attend this event.
