It’s been almost half a year since the Spanish women’s World Cup title. Jennifer Hermoso reveals juicy details about the former national coach.

Madrid – The Spanish association still cannot calm down after the kissing affair involving ex-president Luis Rubiales and Jennifer Hermoso in the wake of the World Cup title. In addition to Rubiales, world champion coach Jorge Vilda was also removed from his position despite his sporting success. Meanwhile, Hermoso reports on the coach’s questionable practices.

In the summer, the Spanish women’s national team won the World Cup for the first time in history. At the tournament in Australia and New Zealand, the Spanish won the final against England. However, the historic success was outshone by the kissing affair involving Jennifer Hermoso and association president Luis Rubiales.

The 33-year-old packed in the interview on the Spanish TV show Planet Calleja about the questionable practices of national coach Jorge Vilda. “When we went to sleep, we had to leave the door open and wait for him to come in at night so he could talk to us,” Hermoso explained. The world champion coach claimed that this was the only time when he could talk to the national players about personal things.

Vilda is considered a close confidant of Rubiales and had to leave

“When we went shopping, he would wait for us and ask us what we had in our bags,” Hermoso also explained on Spanish TV. Vilda, who had achieved historic things as coach of the Spanish women’s national team, still had to leave because, among other things, he was considered a close ally of Rubiales.

The 46-year-old had already turned the players against him in the run-up to the World Cup. A total of 15 of them resigned from the national team before the tournament to protest against Vilda’s methods. However, three changed their minds and returned to the team.

Hermoso testifies against Rubiales in court

In November, Hermoso testified against Rubiales before the State Court in Madrid. Kissing the former association president made her “feel like the victim of an impulsive, sexist and inappropriate act that I did not consent to.” He was banned for three years by both FIFA and the Spanish Court of Arbitration for Sport for his actions.
