The U11 and U15 young judoka recently met in Oer Erkenschwick to determine the best in the Recklinghausen district. At the same time, a place on the podium meant qualification for the district individual championship next weekend in Hörstel.

Gold medals for the JC 66 Bottrop were won by the U15 Zoey Öser (-33kg), Henriette Caspary (-57kg), Emma Bremkens (-63kg), Bilal Saydulaev (-34kg), Jakob Hirschfelder (-40kg), Noe Schneider (-46kg). ) and from the U11 Mathilda Zimmer (-22kg), Jule Piffko (-24kg), Tamina Miglus (-26kg), Hannah Pachmann (-36kg), Louisa Schneider (-40kg), Daniel Nazaralipour (-27kg) and Dean Luitjens ( -43kg). So 13 gold medals for the young pirates – that sounds great. The team with the next most first places was Adler Bottrop with five.

Second places went to Balthasar Borowski (-40kg), Paul Wörsdörfer (-46kg), both U15, as well as Lara Sophie Schmickler (-36kg), Stella Merkulov (-48kg), Lenni Wesselborg (-27kg), Felix Groß (-29kg) , Leon Martin (-37kg) and Mirko Balzer (-40kg) from the U11. Half of the eight JC 66 runners-up only had to admit defeat to a clubmate in the final.

Amelie Semrau (-26kg) also qualified for the district level with a bronze medal. Aziz Yasin Bouabana (-31kg) achieved this with 5th place, while Ahmet Nabi Can (-29kg) and Keanu Braam (-31kg) with 7th place each unfortunately barely managed to achieve this on the day. “But we are very satisfied with 22 qualified athletes and three who have already taken part in the district championship. Even if there is of course always something to improve in terms of content,” said Sven König, coach of the U15, and his counterpart for the U11, Sven Helbing, in unison.

With this great result, the JC 66 also won the team ranking by a large margin (56 points) ahead of Adler Bottrop (22 points) and JC Banzai Gelsenkirchen (19 points) and is now looking forward to the comparisons at district level next weekend. While the U15s can qualify further, the BEM is already the highest level that can be achieved for the U11s. “The 14 little ones are definitely hot,” says U11 coach Kai Striezel, looking towards the weekend with a smile.
