Japhet Tanganga is leaving FC Augsburg after six months without ever appearing on the pitch for the Fuggerstadt team. As FCA and parent club Tottenham Hotspur reported on Thursday morning, the 24-year-old central defender’s loan was ended early. Knee problems put Tanganga out of action at the start of the campaign, but even after that he only made it into the matchday squad once.
“Unfortunately, the loan – mainly due to injury reasons – did not develop as everyone involved had hoped. In addition, the defensive line has stabilized in the last few months, which is why we have now come to the decision in discussions with Japhet to end the loan deal early. We would like to thank him for his commitment and wish him only the best for the future, both personally and sportingly,” explained sports director Marinko Jurendic.
