Félix Houphouët-Boigny watches over the Elephants: upon arrival in the capital Yamoussoukro, before the decisive match against Senegal, the Ivorian selection went to pay their respects at the grave of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, founding father of modern Côte d’Ivoire, who died in 1993. A tribute to the president who organized the first CAN in the country in 1984 and who was at its head during the first CAN won by the Ivorians in 1992. A visit which brought luck to the Elephants, winners this Monday over the Lions of Téranga.
