Kane (30) has been scoring goals on an assembly line for more than ten years. He was top scorer in the Premier League three times (2016, 2017, 2021). And in the English national team he is the all-time leading goalscorer with 62 goals. But he’s never held a trophy or a bowl, nothing shiny, nothing for the trophy cabinet.

In 2017 he was runner-up behind Chelsea with Tottenham. In 2019 he lost the Champions League final against Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool. And at the European Championships 2021, the dramatic penalty shootout against Italy in the final.
What do you do when you really want a trophy? You go to FC Bayern, the club with the title guarantee. Eleven championships in a row are not seen in any other top European league.
But in the Supercup against Leipzig there was a 0-3 defeat, Kane only came on in the 64th minute. Before the Champions League game against Manchester United, he spoke openly about the treble. But then Bayern were knocked out of the cup by third division team Saarbrücken.

In the Bundesliga there is now a lot to be said for a sensational title for Leverkusen. And in the Champions League (round of 16 against Lazio) the trophies are known to be particularly high. Especially in the current condition of the record champions!
It’s not Kane’s fault. He has already scored 22 goals in 17 games in the Bundesliga. Lewandowski’s all-time record (41 goals) is shaky. But if Bayern endure their first titleless season since 2012 (!), Kane’s title curse will become increasingly sinister.
Neutral fans want Leverkusen to win the championship. Me too! It’s finally someone other than Bayern. On the other hand, I wish Harry Kane that he finally defeats his title curse. My problem: Both probably won’t work!
