In 2022, the Minedu reported on the construction and design plan for 75 Bicentenario Schools, public schools equipped with durable infrastructure in the face of natural disasters, with areas suitable for learning, accessible and with a focus on environmental sustainability. These facilities will be at the service of 114 thousand students in 21 districts of the Peruvian capital and in 9 regions of the country. Some of these schools are expected to be fully equipped to serve students in the 2024 school year.

The works and equipment are part of the Bicentennial Schools Special Public Investment Project, working in coordination with the governments of the United Kingdom and Finland, who act as strategic partners, with financing of 4,250 million soles.

According to Minedu, to enroll a minor in a Bicentenario School, the admission process is the same as that carried out in any public educational institution in the country, therefore, those who are already enrolled in those institutions under renovation will be able to continue their studios now with their premises remodeled.
