The hockey players are ready to prove in the spring in the Czech Republic that the bronze awards won in Riga and Tampere cannot be recorded in the one-hit wonder category, but at the end of the summer the skates will already be sharpened for the fight for participation in the Olympic tournament. After a promising application in the World Cup, the national basketball team hopes to live the Olympic dream in Paris this summer, along with other athletes. The qualifying competition for both teams is scheduled for this summer in Riga. It is possible that beach volleyball players will also share Olympic tickets in Latvia, as long as the world’s sports policymakers come to a healthy common denominator in their attitude towards the athletes of terrorists and aggressor countries.
