As reported by Dazn, Retegui was hit by a chocolate snack, and also ended up on the ground and then got up, while the other Genoan Strootman picked up the bar and ate it. Among the other objects thrown onto the pitch there was also a piece of concrete torn off from the curve, which did not hit anyone and which was then ‘taken over’ by referee Orsato.
Kevin Strootman, Genoa midfielder, then commented on the matter from Dazn’s microphones: “We celebrated in front of their fans – his words -, they threw something but in football it happens, no one got hurt and that’s okay. The snack ? Yes, I ate it.”
