Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz Lead Poland to United Cup Final Victory Over France

World No.1 Iga Swiatek and world No.9 Hubert Hurkacz propelled Poland to the final of the United Cup, a mixed team tennis competition, to the detriment of France, in Sydney on Saturday. The Pole Hurkacz first beat the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-5, in 1 hour and 41 minutes, before his compatriot Swiatek beat the Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 .

In the quarter-finals, Poland qualified against China, with Hurkacz beating Zhang Zhizhen in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and Swiatek winning 6-2, 6-3 against Zheng Quinwen. The Frenchman Mannarino had already been defeated by the Norwegian Casper Ruud, while Garcia had been victorious over the Norwegian Malene Helgoe.
