Ice hockey: KAC home series breaks against Innsbruck

Klagenfurt’s Matt Fraser was spot-on twice (9th, 35th/PP), but the Tyroleans, who have now been unbeaten in seven away games, came back in the power play thanks to Nick Albano (27th) and Adam Rockwood (48th). While the Carinthians remained goalless in the penalty shootout, Kevin Roy and Gordon Green converted their attempts for the fifth-placed Tyroleans, who thus took revenge for the 2:3 home defeat in their last duel two weeks ago.

The VSV overran the Graz99ers in the first third (5:0). After 40 minutes the shot ratio was 36:9. Kevin Hancock (4 points) and Robert Sabolic scored twice. The seventh-placed “Adlers” are fully in the race for a direct play-off place.

Important victories for Vorarlberg and Vienna

In the race for the pre-play-off, the Pioneers Vorarlberg and the spusu Vienna Capitals celebrated important victories. The Pioneers started the important away double for participation in the pre-play-off (places seven to ten) against Ljubljana and Graz with a 4-1 win. The pursuers Vienna Capitals also won, but had to go into extra time against second-to-last Asiago – most recently defeated by KAC with 0:12.

Six points separate the Caps from tenth place. After 60 minutes the score was 1-1 despite a preponderance of shots from Vienna. Then Seamus Donahue (64th) ensured the happy journey to Saturday’s game in Bolzano. The fourth-placed team, like second-placed Salzburg and third-placed Fehervar, was without a game on Friday.
