Honoring the Legacy of Master Shozo Awazu: Yannick Schwender Receives Prestigious Judo Diploma

Japanese judoka, Master Shozo Awazu (9th dan), was at the origin of the growth of judo in France. Today, the Federation has created a diploma in his name.

Yannick Schwender, technical director of the Dojo du Saulnois since 1994, is part of the 2022 class of the Master Shozo Awazu, Japanese judoka 9th dan diploma, awarded to coaches and educators who, for twenty-five years or more, have contributed to the development of judo in their dojos, to the development of the athletes in their charge and to the recognition of the notoriety of their club.

The diploma and the silver medal of the Master Shozo Awazu diploma were presented to Yannick Schwender during the general assembly of the association by the president of the Grand Est Judo League, Jean-Louis Duvergey.

Holder of the State Certificate in Judo and fitness professions, Yannick Schwender has been immersed in judo since he was 4 years old, almost fifty years of practicing and then teaching the martial art to generations of young judokas, at the dojo or during the numerous introductory courses set up in schools in the area.
