Hertha Professional Marton Dardai Commits to Playing for Hungarian National Team

He’s committed!

Hertha professional Marton Dardai (21) announced on Monday evening that he would play for the Hungarian association in the future. He made the decision at the end of last year together with his family and his advisors.

The defensive specialist explained via Instagram: “It goes without saying that the decision was not easy for me, but I will play for Hungary in the future. (…) The decision is an absolute matter of the heart and that’s why I’m incredibly excited to play for my parents’ home country in the future.”

The second eldest son of Hertha coach Pal Dardai (47) went through the DFB youth teams as a teenager. He made eight appearances for the German U21s.

Marton’s older brother Palko Dardai (24), who also plays for the Berlin second division club, moved to the Hungarian association. So far he has played one game for the senior national team.

Now Marton wants to follow him – and perhaps play for Hungary with his big brother in the future!
