Heracles Almelo Defender Suffers Broken Ankle from Foul in Match Against Ajax

Heracles Almelo defender has suffered a broken ankle as a result of the foul he committed in the final phase of the match against Ajax. He does not need surgery, but he will be absent for a longer period of time.

“Unfortunately, a fracture in the ankle has been diagnosed, so I will have to wear a plaster cast for the next six weeks,” says the 22-year-old Serbian at the his club’s website. “Luckily I don’t need surgery, but unfortunately I will be out for the next few months.”

Cestic’s foul on Brobbey was remarkable. The Ajax striker broke through on the right side of the field in the ninetieth minute of the match when the final score had already been reached. Cestic could not keep up with Brobbey, pulled him by his shirt and pants for a second and ultimately had to pay for it with a yellow card.

Brobbey reacted angrily to the defender’s foul and even had to be stopped by the assistant referee. Cestic was injured during his action and was immediately substituted.
