“Gulbenes Buki” announced this week that Edgars Kaufmanis, the most valuable player of November’s NBL, has left the team, as he went to Austria as a legionnaire. Gulbenians did not start their first home game of this calendar year as they would have liked, because the newcomer of the championship “Sigulda/Modern house” finished the half in their favor with 53:47. Sigulda’s hopes of ending the losing streak began to crumble in the second half. The Gauja krasta team finished the third period with a deficit of six points. Rihards Teirumnieks drove a significant nail in the middle of the last section with two triples in a row, who was joined a short while later by Jānis Engers with five points. Although Toms Kēdis reduced the difference at the end of the fight, the team coached by Raimonds Gabran marched to the tenth success of the season – 91:87.
Teirumnieks from Rezekne, who started this game from the bench, scored 23 points and grabbed four rebounds. Jānis Engers stood out for the Buk with 21 points, while Ingara Aizpuras and Rihardas Bērziņas scored 17 and 14 points, respectively. Bērziņš also reached a “double-double” with 11 rebounds.

Raimonds Stašāns was the most productive member of DSN with 12 points, while Mārtiņš Feldmanis and Dans Galdiņš collected ten points each. This was DSN’s fourth defeat in ten games.
