Red Sparks which is strengthened Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has the opportunity to get closer to GS Caltex’s points tally, which suffered another defeat in the Korean Volleyball League.

GS Caltex suffered defeat after a fierce duel against Hyundai E&C Hillstate at Suwon Gymnasium, Wednesday (10/1). The team which is ranked third in the standings lost 2-3 (28-30, 25-21, 16-25, 25-17, 17-19).

GS Caltex star, Gyselle Silva was the player who contributed the most in this match. He recorded 36 points but unfortunately was unable to help his team win.

This defeat made GS Caltex suffer two consecutive defeats. Cha Sang-hyun’s team was also only able to win once in the last four matches in the Korean Volleyball League.

This bad period provided an opening for the Red Sparks, who were perched in fifth position, to erode the points difference. Red Sparks currently collects 33 points or is eight points behind GS Caltex.

However, Megawati and her friends have only played 21 matches. If they are able to win in the next match, Red Sparks will win 33 points to overtake IBK Altos (32 points) and shorten the gap with GS Caltex.

Therefore, Red Sparks must not waste the opportunity when competing against AI Peppers, Thursday (11/1). The chance of winning is open for Koo Hee Jin’s troops because AI Peppers is in decline.

AI Peppers is a team that occupies the bottom position in the Korean Volleyball League standings. AI Peppers has only collected seven points from 21 matches with only two wins and 19 losses.
