An auction that will delight both basketball fans and serious sneaker enthusiasts. February 2, six sneakers Air Jordan, the shoes of the very famous Jordan brand created by the NBA player himself, will be put up for auction. And as proof that this sale is likely to be as tense as it is magical: each of the sneakers was worn by Michael Jordan during the decisive games of his six career NBA championships! The set of six sneakers is estimated between seven and ten million euros.
“This set represents the most valuable and largest collection of Air Jordan sneakers ever brought to market”, assures the American house Sotheby’s, responsible for the sale, relayed by Paris Match. The collection, called «The Dynasty Collection» consists of an Air Jordan VI (1991), an Air Jordan VII (1992), an Air Jordan VIII (1993), an Air Jordan XI (1996), an Air Jordan XII (1997 ) and an Air Jordan XIV (1998).

A tradition between friends
As our colleagues report, after each of the six NBA championships, Michael Jordan was always missing a shoe during the celebration evening. Indeed, number 23 of the Chicago Bulls signed an autograph on one of his Game Worn Air Jordans and offered it to Tim Hallam, his friend and public relations manager. It is these shoes, precisely, which will be offered on February 2.
This is not the first time that the NBA champion has put his most emblematic pairs up for auction. Last April, for the astronomical sum of 4 million dollars, the same auction house had offered the player’s shoes worn during the second game of the NBA Finals in 1998 which pitted the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz. In October 2021, Sotheby’s sold for 1 472 000 dollars a pair of sneakers, the Nike Air Ship, worn by Jordan in 1984-1985, setting an auction record for shoes worn in a match.
