On January 19th, FC Bayern will host a memorial event for Franz Beckenbauer in the Allianz Arena. There are other honors in the pipeline, such as the renaming of the DFB Cup after Beckenbauer. Walter M. Straten, sports director at BILD, said on WELT TV: “It has to be something big and special.”
