The former Tampa Bay Rays gunner, Wander Franco, was arrested this Monday, January 1, after he appeared before the Public Ministry of the province of Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic, following the complaint that exists regarding the alleged intimate relationships with a minor.

The reason for this arrest is because on Thursday, December 28, he did not appear before another appointment made by the Chief Prosecutor of the Department of Children, Adolescents and Family of the Dominican Republic, Olga Diná Llaverías.

According to the source from the Puerto Plata prosecutor’s office, Franco appeared voluntarily on Monday morning with his lawyers to make himself available to the authorities and be questioned regarding an investigation that is being carried out against him. as a result of a complaint where he allegedly had a relationship with a minor, while he was an adult, which is punishable by Dominican laws.

In the Dominican Republic, the sexual relationship of an adult with minors is classified as sexual abuse and the prison sentence can reach up to 5 years.
