Former Professional Footballer Mark-Jan Fledderus’ Debut Turns Ugly with On-Field Altercation

Mark-Jan Fledderus showed his worst side last weekend by punching an opponent in the face during his debut as an amateur footballer. Stefan Bleeker knows in the podcast The Coffee Corner from RTV Noord to report that the former professional was angry about the fact that those images were going to be broadcast.

Bleeker explains what was going on. “I was there to record Fledderus’ return. To show what happens there. If he scores a world-class goal, we will show that too. Why are we there? Because we have been invited and because we want to make a nice report “You try to make something fun and positive out of it, but as a journalist I would be completely unbelievable if I didn’t broadcast that (the blow, ed.). It’s just something that happens.”

Fledderus requested that the images not be broadcast, but nothing was done with them. Bleeker: “He was quite angry that I was going to broadcast those images. ‘Pathetic man’, this and that. That’s what he said to me. That might be a bit of a problem for him. That he doesn’t understand that you are there to do everything. to register.” Former general manager of FC Groningen Hans Nijland, who is chairman of HSC, also contributed. “Nijland asked not to emphasize that blow. But he also knows how it works. Fledderus was completely incensed.”
