Flames in a warehouse in the old wing of the Piacenza hospital, adjacent to the basilica of Santa Maria di Campagna. The fire broke out around 11pm, inside a room containing chairs and furniture of various types, which were destroyed.
The firefighters immediately arrived on site and got to work immediately: in fact, the fear was that the flames could lick the nearby walls of the church.
Fortunately this did not happen. The local police are also on site and are now trying to reconstruct the causes of the fire.
It cannot be ruled out that someone, perhaps a homeless person, entered the room with the aim of keeping warm and that his attempt went wrong. This is only a hypothesis for now, investigations are underway.
